Practical moving facts and estimates
These are practical planning facts and illustrative estimates, not market statistics or guarantees. Your actual contents, access and moving agreement determine what the job involves.
Illustrative box quantities
The following ranges help start an inventory. They are not measured household statistics: books, kitchenware, storage rooms and the amount you keep can change the result substantially.
| Home size | Approximate number of boxes |
|---|---|
| One room | 10–15 |
| Two rooms | 20–35 |
| Three rooms | 40–60 |
| Four rooms | 60–80 |
| House | 80–120 |
Box strength is different from safe carrying weight
Around 15 kg is a practical packing recommendation used in our guidance, not a legal limit or a guarantee that a lift is safe. A box rated for 30 kg does not make that load safe to carry. Grip, posture, stairs, repetition and the individual matter. Spread dense items across small boxes.
Access and equipment affect the work
Stairs, parking, lifts and carrying distances influence time and handling. Pianos, grand pianos, safes, heavy stone items and furniture that does not fit the route need a professional assessment. Measure doors, turns and large items before the day.
Packing materials and dimensions
Use suitable paper, cushioning and blankets. Stretch film holds protection in place; avoid direct contact with delicate polished surfaces. Secure the box base with suitable tape. Dimensions such as 40 × 40 × 60 cm and 40 × 40 × 70 cm are examples, not universal standards.
Why moves run late
Unfinished packing or dismantling, unavailable parking, missing keys, an unbooked lift or undeclared heavy items can change the job. Prepare access and disclose special handling before the company quotes.
Read the charging method
Hourly and fixed prices cover an agreed scope. Check when chargeable time starts and stops, travel, extras and changes. Photograph valuable or fragile items, record electronics and cables, and clarify the applicable insurance.
Give companies the same information
Provide addresses, date, property size, floors, lift, parking, inventory and required packing services. For address registration, follow Borger.dk’s current guidance; reporting is due no later than five days after actually moving.
Frequently asked questions
Are these official moving statistics?
No. The box quantities and practical recommendations are illustrative planning guidance.
Is 15 kg always a safe box weight?
No. Safe handling depends on the person, grip, posture, route and repetition. Reduce the load and obtain help or equipment where needed.
Is a fixed price always cheaper?
No. Compare the agreed scope, conditions and possible changes rather than the charging label alone.
How can I request moving quotes?
Describe the move through TreFlyttetilbud and request three free, non-binding quotes. The platform is independent and you arrange the move directly with the chosen company.
