Moving boxes: choose sizes and plan the quantity
The number of moving boxes you need depends on your belongings, not just the floor area. Count cupboards, shelves and storage spaces room by room, then allow a buffer so you do not run out while packing.
Estimate from what you actually own
A well-stocked kitchen or a large book collection may need more boxes than a sparsely furnished living room. Check drawers, cupboards, cellar, loft, storage room and balcony. Declutter first, then add a sensible margin to your estimate.
Match size to the contents
Use small boxes for books, documents and other dense items. Medium boxes suit mixed kitchenware and toys. Larger boxes are better for light bedding, pillows and clothing. Consistent sizes are easier to stack safely.
Protect glasses and china
Dividers separate glasses. Without them, wrap each glass and place it in a sturdy smaller box with cushioning above and below. Wrap plates separately and stand them upright. Mark the box Fragile.
Buying, hiring or arranging delivery
You can buy boxes, hire them from a supplier or ask your moving company about delivery. Some offers include them and others charge separately. TreFlyttetilbud does not sell, hire out or deliver boxes; it is a comparison platform. Read about affordable boxes, box deals and estimating quantities.
