Ask about materials and timing
Check boxes, paper, cushioning, tape and specialist packaging, including any extra charges. Confirm whether packing happens before moving day or on the day and when you need to be present.
Keep personal essentials under your control
Set aside passports, important documents, valuables, medication, chargers and first-evening necessities. Keep items not moving clearly separate so they are not packed accidentally.
Prepare the home and explain special items
Declutter first, identify delicate collections and tell the company about art or unusual handling. State the rooms and approximate amount being packed, and whether you provide any boxes. Do not make a team pack belongings already intended for disposal.
Confirm responsibility and insurance
Ask how company-packed and self-packed contents are treated, what is excluded and how damage is reported. Having the company pack does not establish that every item is automatically insured.
Unpacking, storage and other combined services
Placing boxes in rooms is not the same as unpacking them. Confirm the destination tasks and labelling. If packing is combined with cleaning or storage, record each part in the moving agreement.
